Morillon is in the centre of a group of mountain and lakeside golf courses in France. Our self catering chalet is in the ideal location for a golfing holiday playing a wide variety of golf clubs, the closest (Flaine, Les Gets, Avoriaz and those around lake Annecy) between a 20 - 35 minute drive from the chalets door. Prices for a round of golf vary from 25 - 100 euros. There is a golf driving range with a difference in Samoëns, where you drive balls into a lake. There is also a small pitch and putt course. There are some old established golf clubs around the area including the championship golf course at Evian. In addition there are mountain golf courses in the French Alps only open when the snow clears the mountains. There are fantastic views. There are also golf courses bordering some of the lakes in the region.
Most golf courses will rent 1/2 set or full set clubs so if you haven’t taken your golf clubs but fancy a game of golf, you can just ring and book a time. Many have golf buggies for hire.
Some golf clubs request handicap certificates but do not always ask to see them. They do like some proof that you are a member of a golf club somewhere, and if you have forgotten your certificate a tag on your golf bag may be enough. They are more likely to ask for a handicap certificate on those courses which have an upper handicap limit. If you think you may be playing golf, remember to pack your handicap certificate.
Most of the golf courses below have websites which detail the type of course and some have video clips taking you through the layout of the golf course. The season for the golf courses to be open is indicated below but may vary depending on the weather, so check with the club or look at their website.
