Chalet la Valentine is a family holiday chalet for skiing to rent in Verchaix,
Morillon, Grand Massif ski area, available for skiing holidays and summer activity holidays. Our self catered summer/ski alpine chalet accommodation is located in the Verchaix, Morillon, Samoëns, Flaine region for skiing, golf, paragliding, walking, horse riding, mountain biking and other family activity holidays in the French Alps. Chalet la Valentine is available for private holiday rental, set in the perfect location for summer activity holidays and skiing holidays in the winter. Rental prices include all utilities. local Tourist Tax. wood for the fire and a full Linen pack.


Our self catered chalet is 50 kms from Geneva and the Chamonix valley, 30 minutes from the Portes du Soleil and 17 km from the motorway exit. The ski bus stop is only 100m away, the Morillon télécabine 1km (15 to 20 minute walk) and the Samoëns télécabines only 3 km away, all connecting directly into the vast Grand Massif skiing circuit with 265 km of pistes.
The area has a good snow record because of the Mont Blanc effect. In 2008 Flaine stayed open for a week beyond the date it was meant to close until 25.4.08. because the snow was so good.


Situated on the main Samoëns valley road, our independent traditional wooden Savoyard chalet has a 700 square metre private garden backing onto open forest with marked walks up to Verchaix village on the slopes above. There is a fitted modern kitchen, living room with open fireplace, south facing balcony, dining room, 2 double bedrooms, 1 twin bedroom, 1 twin/double bedroom, 2 bathrooms and one separate WC.


Within 80 metres of the chalet is a Bakery open early for croissants and baguettes. If you arrive late on Saturday evening, they also sell basics such as coffee, tea and milk to have with your croissants. In addition to the bakery, there is the Post Office, Tourist Information, a clothes shop and specialist Chocolatier.


There is a swimming lake and park a 3 minute walk from the chalet with a zip wire tree
top climbing adventure area, swimming with beach, horse riding, mini golf, and cross country trails. The park is the focal point for regular concerts and firework displays, advertised in the tourist office or on the notice board in Morillon.


The village of Morillon is a 10 minute walk, with shops, bicycle and ski hire, restaurants and village market on Wednesday evenings in the winter and Friday mornings in the summer. Local produce, honey, cheese, vegetables, dried meat and saucisson are on offer in the weekly market as well as clothes, ski jackets, hats, gloves and socks. There is a village supermarket near the lifts, a 12 - 15 minute walk away. The only large supermarket in the area is located between Samoëns and Morillon. It is less than a minute by car going towards Samoëns. The supermarket is open from 8.45 to 12.15 and 14.45 to 19.15 on weekdays; 8.45 to 19.15 on Saturdays and 9.00 to 12.00 on Sundays.


The village “historique” Samoëns is just 2 km away with its many tourist attractions. It is a medieval town, with old houses and summer chalets bright with geraniums or in the winter ski chalets decorated with christmas lights for the ski season. There is a mountain market well worth visiting is held every Wednesday in the medieval square. The medieval square is apparently a wireless internet zone. www.samoens.com


Morillon is in the centre of a group of mountain and lakeside golf courses in the French Alps. Our self catering chalet is in the ideal location for a golfing holiday playing a wide variety of golf clubs in the Grand Massif and Haute Savoie. The closest (Flaine golf club, Les Gets golf club, Avoriaz  golf club and those golf courses around lake Annecy) are between a 20 - 35 minute drive from the chalet’s door. There is a golf driving range in Samoëns. There are some old established golf clubs around the area including the championship golf course at Evian and others designed by Trent Jones Snr, Trent Jones Jnr and Henry Cotton.
