Chalet la Valentine, Samoens / Morillon French Alps.

The chalet is ideal accommodation for self catered skiing and summer family activity holidays in the Samoens area of the French Alps. Our chalet sleeps 6 7 or 8 very comfortably but will take 9 or 10 plus a child of less than one year in a cot. We adjust the weekly letting prices for the hire of the whole chalet depending on  whether 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 or 10 people are staying.               

There is one cot, one high chair, 2 stair gates, and 2 cot sides for young children children sleeping in a bed; all available in the chalet for guests with small children. The fully insulated ski chalet is very warm in winter with electric heating in every room. There is broad band internet access available at the chalet (if you need to keep in contact with work or need access to your emails bring your laptop), satellite television and a phone to take incoming calls and make local and emergency calls.

The Ground Floor

The ski/summer chalet has a large garage for storage of skis and ski boots in the winter and bikes in the summer. A door leads from the garage to a hallway. From the hallway there is a double bedroom, a bedroom with bunk beds, and separate bathroom (bath, shower, sink and WC). The washing machine and tumble dryer are at the end of the hallway from which wooden stairs lead to the first floor.

First Floor

Off the hallway is a bathroom, separate WC, the kitchen and the lounge. The chalet’s fully fitted kitchen is well equipped for a self catering summer or ski holiday, with fridge freezer, electric oven, ceramic electric hob, microwave and filter coffee machine.

There is an open fireplace in the L shaped lounge dining room. The chimney has glass doors for extra safety. There is a large stack of wood outside for the fire. There is underfloor heating throughout the tiled floor of main living space of the ski chalet to ensure even heat throughout the room and comfort. The table in the eating area extends to easily accommodate seating for 10.  There is seating for 7 - 8 adults in the lounge area with 2 bean bags for children.

From the lounge, doors open onto the chalet’s large east and south facing balconies. From the south facing balcony at the front you can see the slopes of the Grand Massif part of the French Alps, and the north facing slopes of Morillon ski area, and from the east looking towards Samoens you can see the Criou Mountain.

Second Floor

Stairs from the lounge lead up to the mezzanine on the top floor of the chalet. From the mezzanine are doors to a twin bedroom with 2 single beds, and one very large bedroom with a choice of one double bed or 2 single beds.

Guests have a choice of 4 single beds, 1 bunk bed and 2 doubles in 4 bedrooms. This allows some flexibility in sleeping arrangements. Before arriving you can tell us which beds you would like so we can make them up for you.

Outside

Outside the chalet is a large private garden backing onto open forest on the slopes of Verchaix. For more on Verchaix see www.verchaix.com. There is enough land to play badminton or short tennis with all the equipment provided in the chalet. Barbecue, garden furniture and garden umbrellas are in the chalet’s garage, where there is room to store guests bikes safely and undercover. The chalet’s garden is fully enclosed for guests with small children with a lockable gate. We have recently planted some silver birch in front of the chalet to provide shade in hot summer weather. There is a small table and 4 chairs on the east facing balcony to sit outside. There is a large parking area to one side of the chalet for 3 to 4 cars. You can walk up to Verchaix through the forest behind the chalet, or cycle into Samoens along the river using large well marked paths.
